COURSE
PREREQUISITES
Be over 15 years old (according to BOJA 142, July 25, 2003, in the Annex of Requirements for the Sports-Recreational Diver Certificate at beginner level).
Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent), issued by a recognized international organization.
Have 25 logged dives.
Diver Medical Declaration.
Have mandatory insurance
COURSE PLANNING
The DPV Level 1 course consists of 3 theoretical sessions and a minimum of four (4) training dives. The theory part can be done online or in-person, and then the dives are completed over two (2) days
THEORETICAL PART
Course introduction
Theory session 1: What is a DPV. How it works. Parts of a DPV. Maintenance
Theory session 2: Dive planning (gas management). Proper descents and ascents
Theory session 3: Communication and teamwork
Theory session 4: Emergency protocols.
DAY 1
DPV setup.
Dive 1: Ballast and torque adjustment. Controlled descent. Diving with DPV according to plan.
Dive 2: Emergency protocols. Towing a diver with a malfunctioning DPV.
Cleaning, charging, and storage.
DAY 2
Re-adjust configuration.
Dive 3: Compass navigation.
Dive 4: Emergency protocols. Gas sharing. Buoy deployment with controlled ascent.
Cleaning, charging, and storage.

AFTER THE COURSE
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be qualified to dive unsupervised with a DPV, up to the depth allowed by your current certification.
